It seems that the tomato shabby version of vyprvpn always connects the openvpn connections through the vyprvpn service. I'd like to see a way to stop that behavior, as I like to connect to my office with an openvpn connection using my router as an openvpn client. But when I enable the vypervpn, it's causing it to endpoint through vyprvpn and not my local ip address.9 votes
Please add the ability to manually select a port using the router app.9 votes
Per device VPN doesn't work since the MultiWan Feature was released.23 votes
Port filtering feature to select the ports of a device that will access the VPN and those that will not.5 votes
The documentation for installing the router app uses
http://for downloading scripts; this is trivial to exploit as man-in-the-middle attacks and make malware injection possible with escalated privileges. It should be switched to
The install script itself also uses
http://to download the VyprVPN .tar.gz file, which is again exploitable and uses no checksums to check integrity.12 votes
Just like how in the mobile app you can select the 'Fastest Server' option I would like to see this feature added to the Router App. This combined with the scripts to auto-connect at startup / auto-reconnect would enable the routers to be incredibly useful in countries with strict internet filters.15 votes
I would like to suggest a Site-to-site filtering to choose between usage of VPN tunneling or bypassing VPN.
The problem in China is that there is censorship based on DNS/IP address. The router app allow us to tell if a device should use all its traffic through VPN or not. Another layer would be interesting to improve that.
I think maybe some more "techy"-people got a similar idea (last time I did this kind of thing was with an "iptable" command, 15years ago) but I cannot formulate it in a better way since I don't know much about Tomato firmware.14 votes
Currently, with the tomato router we can just define, if or if not a device should use the vpn. I would appreciate to be able, to define the connection per device. This would enable me, to use a connection with a US Server for my TV, but for my internet connection I would use a faster server from Europe.
Can you develop a webui that supports Asuswrt. A webui-related plugin designed for Tomato won't work with Asuswrt3 votes
I am using MPTCP system and UDP is not concerned, so I am limited to the maximum bandwith of one line (4.5 Mbps)..
I am used to connect to Vyprvpn using the app on a tomato routeur and find it really fine..
I hope the Vyprvpn OpenVPN over TCP implementation will be available soon to take full advantage of Vyprvpn on my network.4 votes
The ideal solution would be for VyprVPN to provide smart DNS services along with its VPN service. But if that can't be done, allowing users to set the servers of a smart DNS provider on the Tomato App would help a lot.9 votes
Two ideas: One, be able to configure priority for VPN traffic (ie, set the traffic over the VPN to a higher priority than ordinary traffic). Also, the number of reconnect retries ought to be able to be set to unlimited.1 vote
Would like to see an email notification when:
You are disconnected
You are connected
For both notifications it should list what server you were connected to and what protocol.28 votes
It would be great to be able to create a virtual VPN router app that can be added to things such as ESXI, Virtual box etc.12 votes
The router version of the app currently does not have a kill switch8 votes
You can use the “Require VPN” setting in the Per Device settings to require a device to use the VPN. It effectively works as a kill switch for the Router App in that the device will cease using the internet until a VPN connection is reestablished.
All my devices MAC addresses have specific IP addresses (static IP) assigned to them using the "Static DHCP/ARP/IPT" section under "Basic"
Under the menu VyprVPN --> Per Device VPN you have a list of connected devices. Some of the device hostnames are not found.
All of my connected devices have hostnames assigned under the menu Basic --> Static DHCP/ARP/IPT.
It would be great if manually entered hostnames could be inherited from the Basic --> Static DHCP/ARP/IPT section to the VyprVPN --> Per Device VPN hostname section.1 vote
Would like to have a feature to assign a new IP once every hour, 6 hours, 12 hour and 24 hour, etc.13 votes

Would like to suggest that the VyprVPN Router App Install Script be hosted on Github or somewhere other than the goldenfrog.com servers.
As you know the goldenfrog.com servers are blocked in China (if they are not yet they will be) - this makes installing the VyprVPN Router App impossible without manually moving the script somewhere unblocked.
The command I am referring to is:
wget -q -O - http://www.goldenfrog.com/downloads/vyprvpn/router/app/tomato/arm/install.sh
We offer an alternate download at these links, which should be unblocked in China.
eval `wget -q -O – http://dl.succentric.com/downloads/vyprvpn/router/app/tomato/mipsel/install-succentric.sh`
eval `wget -q -O – http://dl.succentric.com/downloads/vyprvpn/router/app/tomato/arm/install-succentric.sh`
We will get those posted on the Support page! Thanks for your suggestion.
I am currently Testing the VyprVPN Router App on Tomato in China.
Its working really well.
The only problem I have is that Google Services are blocked in China, when the Vypr Interface opens while VPN is disconnected it takes forever to try to load some fonts from fonts.googleapis.com
I would suggest hosting those on the router with the app itself or loading from Github or something that is not blocked.
