I have been having trouble with VyprVPN connecting. Found out I needed to switch protocols.
It would be great to have a protocol switch(es) on the control panel. Something similar to the "kill switch", "connect on untrusted wi-fi", and "block malicious sites".
I would also be great to have an switch to automatically find the "best" or "unblocked" protocol. You could set order of preference in the "system preferences".254 votes
Please add IKEv2 support. IKEv2 protocol is much faster than L2TP and secure and usually not censored.692 votes
This has been completed in the latest version. Please select a Protocol and tap Configure and you will be able to run an MTU Optimization connection test!
The router version of the app currently does not have a kill switch5 votes
You can use the “Require VPN” setting in the Per Device settings to require a device to use the VPN. It effectively works as a kill switch for the Router App in that the device will cease using the internet until a VPN connection is reestablished.
Have a way to use/not use the app when you're on a known secure network. Either be able to add a favorite/known network or have some kind of geofencing for those kinds of network.2 votes
Ability to add trusted wi-fi networks and connect on untrusted wi-fi has been added to the 2.11 release.
don't force adding server address only by IP, allow DNS addresses, so we can put the dynamic DNS name in, and it resolves as needed, or upon IP change6 votes
I’m marking this completed because we now support registering servers with an “IP Type” of “DYNAMIC” which will automatically detect changes in your IP address and update your registration. This addresses the same problem.
Add the ability to auto generate an .ovpn config file.42 votes
This has been implemented in VyprVPN Server 0.10
With Roku having so many apps/channels.. Would be a good option16 votes
What a great idea!
While we do not have a dedicated Roku app, you can use our Router App for Tomato router firmware, Internet Connection Sharing, or a manual connection setup via DD-WRT or Tomato to use VyprVPN on your Roku.
All of these methods are available here: https://support.goldenfrog.com/hc/en-us/categories/200206526-VyprVPN-Manual-Setup
IPSec and L2TP over IPSec support for VyprVPN Server. This will bring support for iOS devices as well as extend the support for Desktops.20 votes
This has been implemented in VyprVPN Server 0.10
Allow select app to route through VyprVPN. For example you only allow Facebook and Email to use VyprVPN, instead of all the apps.
You can select which apps can route through VyprVPN instead of all apps.13 votes
Since 1 year iPhone 6 was released I'm still waiting for the iOS application to be compatible with the big screen of the iPhone 617 votes
Would like to suggest that the VyprVPN Router App Install Script be hosted on Github or somewhere other than the goldenfrog.com servers.
As you know the goldenfrog.com servers are blocked in China (if they are not yet they will be) - this makes installing the VyprVPN Router App impossible without manually moving the script somewhere unblocked.
The command I am referring to is:
eval `wget -q -O - http://www.goldenfrog.com/downloads/vyprvpn/router/app/tomato/arm/install.sh`
We offer an alternate download at these links, which should be unblocked in China.
eval `wget -q -O – http://dl.succentric.com/downloads/vyprvpn/router/app/tomato/mipsel/install-succentric.sh`
eval `wget -q -O – http://dl.succentric.com/downloads/vyprvpn/router/app/tomato/arm/install-succentric.sh`
We will get those posted on the Support page! Thanks for your suggestion.
You can attach image files in the Cyphr Android app! Anything sent through the app will be encrypted.
I would like to see release notes for features add and bug fixes in full versions and beta versions. I personally like to know what is being added, fixed, and removed from programs I use.10 votes
You can currently view the production change log here: https://www.goldenfrog.com/vyprvpn/changelog/windows
The beta version change log is here: http://www.goldenfrog.com/downloads/vyprvpn/desktop/beta/WinReleaseNotes.html
to give us more data for free11 votes
We now allow users to refer friends for VyprVPN Free accounts in order to get more data! See https://www.goldenfrog.com/controlpanel/vyprvpn/refer-a-friend for details.
When connected to VPN, allow user defined applications to bypass the VPN tunnel as a persistent setting.
Currently apps that are configured to bypass vpn via the Per App Connection only apply when the tunnel isn't established prior to launching an app configured to bypass the vpn. The Per App Connection setting would be more powerful if those apps selected to bypass VPN were persistent despite the VPN connection status.18 votes
A simple thing that would make your service easier to use
1. When connected, make your toolbar logo color green = safe
2. When disconnected from VPN, make it color red = unprotected
This instantly vivible and no clicks or other actions are required.
I did this elswhere and it was a great success. Try it, it works!
We do offer color coding in the form of Blue = Connected, Red = Disconnected, and Yellow = Connecting or Disconnecting. However, I can see green being a good option for the Connected state. Thanks for the idea!
We offer German translations in the Android app, however – it will only show German if that is your device’s native language.
Being able to add trusted networks so that when i'm using an unknown WiFi connection a vpn is automatically set up8 votes
This is currently possible on the Android, Mac, and Windows apps. You can add Trusted networks to a list in the Settings/Preferences menu and enable the option to connect on Untrusted networks, which would be any network not on the Trusted list.
