"Connect on Untrusted Wi-Fi" should instead be "Disconnect on Trusted Wi-Fi". VPN/Kill Switch should be suspende when on trusted Wi-Fi

In fact, the "Connect on Untrusted Wi-Fi" defines also trusted Wi-Fi networks.
For those trusted networks, the Kill switch should be disabled because it is basically the same scenario: on trusted Wi-Fi, there is no need to
- connect via VPN
- force to close the connnection
That's why they are called trusted connections :)
This could be an option. Always on VPN drains battery very fast and for some users it is better to only use it when connected to an unfamiliar network.
It is also very quick and easy to turn wifi and mobile data off when they are not needed.
Sure one could also argue that there is no such thing as a trusted wifi because of the recent news concerning WPA2.
