socks proxy
Allow users to run a VyprVPN connection as a SOCKS proxy so that I can have certain applications run over the connection and certain applications not. With total VPN only I have to force all my traffic over the VPN.

I know this was posted in 2013 but it has not been done yet. Would it be possible to make a socks 5 connection with vyprvpn?

Was this ever implemented?

+1 bind-per-app through SOCKS5 would be an amazing add-on! Any idea on a timeframe? Thanks.

Some other companies offers a proxy for Bit Torrent and web browsing. I would love to have those options added to the vyprVPN solution.

I would like to be able to use VyprVPN as an integrated part of my PortableApps setup, the easiest way to do this would be to implement a SOCKS5 proxy availability rather than requiring an app be installed to redirect traffic. I know that portable VPN isn't viable, but being able to configure Firefox to connect directly to VyprVPN would be an excellent addition.

I also think this would be a good feature. Being able to set up a proxy connection in Firefox settings directly would be very useful. It's a simple solution for those who are using machines that aren't theirs or just a quick way to set up a temporary secure proxy for web browsing without changing network settings or installing a program.

I found that setting my proxy in both Firefox and iExplorer through the Tools and internet Option facility (which are slightly different from one another, but if you are this far in your Network/Internet knowledge it is rather simple). http://www.goldenfrog.comm on port 563 allows me to access both the local network and the VyprVPN through VPN. This is using the latest version of Vypr VPN 2.4.0.2797 Doing it was was secure for my needs.

I would also appreciate this facility, any ideas if this idea is likely to be a goer?

I have the exact same request, VyprVPN via SOCKS for app-specific tunneling would be great!

Yes I would prefer this as well. I use vyprvpn for surfing the web only, it would be better if I could just set vyprvpn as proxy server in google chrome. Or alternatively, use vyprvpn in my router as an option. Preferably with a circulating pool of VPN locations.

I want to bind per-application. I suggested socks because it allows me to tunnel with one browser, and not with another, and use them concurrently. I have a separate SSH server I use SOCKS tunneling for when I want to only tunnel certain web traffic. If I could do this with Vyper (which I'm paying for via the diamond subscription anyway), it would allow me to drop this second SSH server just for tunneling. Using Vyper all the time for me is not doable due to certain local hosts and also because I VPN far away and doing everything through that would be very painful with the latency. Thank you.
