Leak in Windows and Web Browser
It seems that in Windows as well as browsers present data leaks despite the fact of using a VPN.
Some specialized sites suggest that you need to "correct" certain values in the browser and change certain values in the Windows registry.
Are you informed about this?
Why not, integrate in your future updates is corrective?
Why am I saying this?
Explanation:
What is an IP address leak ?
IP leakage occurs when your VPN fails to mask your real IP address with one of its own, making it accessible to all prying eyes to see. In other words, the VPN is in operation but in such a case is useless.
This is a huge problem that puts your privacy at risk. Once your ISP or other curious third party is able to see your real IP address, they are able to link everything you do online to you as a person.
What is a DNS leak ?
When DNS requests flow outside the encrypted VPN tunnel and are processed by your ISP (so instead of your VPN), this is called a DNS leak.
DNS leaks expose your browsing habits to your ISP or any spy on your way, allowing them to track the websites you visit and the apps you use. In some countries, such as the United States, ISPs can even sell and share this information with advertising agencies or authorities.
What is a WebRTC leak ?
WebRTC leaks are vulnerabilities in web browsers, such as Google Chrome and Firefox, which reveal your real IP address.
These leaks are not really faults in the browser, they are part of their design. Efficient IP sharing is supposed to be convenient and fast, which is why WebRTC uses smart techniques to determine your real IP address and bypass firewalls that might otherwise prevent your real-time connection from happening.
However, using a VPN poses a huge threat to online privacy, as your ISP - or any other nosy third party - will have access to your personal data and online activities.
What is an IPv6 leak ?
Although IPv6 is the future, it is not currently supported by all VPN providers, which makes them vulnerable to leaks. Many VPNs only route IPv4 traffic through the encrypted VPN tunnel, leaving IPv6 traffic unprotected.
IPv6 leaks cause both IP and DNS leaks, which means that your personal information and online activities may be visible to your ISP or other third parties.
That's why a fix at these levels, would protect us from this. For all the people using your application, unfortunately, and without knowing it, it's very likely that apart from your application, these problems raised by companies in computer security, pose problems.
