In case if the app failed to connect to a VPN server for some intermittent reason other than configuration/authorization error

(Wi-Fi was temporary not available, or wi-fi requires web authorization by SMS i.e. requires user interaction),

then it should just silently wait and continue connection attempts until finally connected, not display endless cascade or error dialogs (see screenshot).

Take a look at the Dropbox or Google Drive clients: they just silently wait and trying again.
