We have implemented a similar feature, Kill Switch, in our VyprVPN Windows 2.5 release which allows the user to choose to not have internet access when the computer is not connected to VPN. We are currently working on the proof of concept for per-app VPN. I hope this answers your questions!

Agreed! I found a lot small & a few big bugs and had have many suggestions / improvements for this new version. Unfortunately, I'm to lazy to post a long list here... (─‿‿─)
A big problem for me is the not working reconnect function, I get four times the same message, contents a message like this: "Connection failed. No internet connection available." ... I need to click four times OK to reconnect (Windows issue).
Design, look and feel are good. Fonts are huge, but this does not bother me.
A really nice feature is the auto update function, works like a charm! (>‿◠)✌I only tested the Windows and Mac version.

The idea and concept of this smal tool are awesome...
Characteristic
- Blocking traffic (P2P, Firefox...) in case of disconnection of the VPN
- Be sure to go through the VPN by delete the main route internet
- Automatically reconnect the VPN
- Reload applications when VPN reconnected
- No leakage to close applications when disconnecting
